Jaden Estes Carlson

Jaden Estes Carlson is a ceramic artist and educator whose work explores the interplay between personal identity and societal expectations. Utilizing hand-building techniques, she crafts forms that draw inspiration from textile traditions, domestic aesthetics, and architectural motifs. Her surfaces often feature bold, loose geometric patterns accentuated by rich, colorful tones and earthy terra sigillata, reflecting the duality of vulnerability and resilience.

Jaden’s practice delves into themes of gender, memory, and the complexities of home, often incorporating arches and quilt-like patterns to symbolize strength and transition. Her work has been recognized nationally, including being named a 2025 Emerging Artist by Ceramics Monthly.

In addition to her studio practice, she teaches high school visual arts and serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Nebraska–Kearney.
